Better2Know recently surveyed the customers who bought services on this web page. Better2Know does not provide home tests which you may have read about in the press. Often these tests give instant results at home, but they are not accredited, and do not have as high a level of accuracy as our lab based tests.

HIV Testing for VISA applications

Surprising as it may sound, some countries require and HIV Test before they will grant you a Visa. Currently, Russia and China are two such countries that may require HIV Tests for some of their Visa Applications. Currently, Better2Know Home Testing does not perform HIV Test via Home Testing; we do however have the largest network of private GPs in the UK and can arrange an appointment usually same day for you to get tested. The results in some of our clinics will be instant; however, some will take 48 – 72 hours to process. The doctor can give you a signed certificate with your result that can accompany your Visa application.

The price for a standard HIV Test is £120.00 and the certificate is £25.00.

Sometimes people feel embarrassed to go and speak with their doctors about sex related subjects. However, if you feel you can overcome this, it is always better to get checked out by your GP, who will probably be able to tell what it is through an examination, or will order the relevant tests for you. There is an incubation period of 10-28 days depending on the STD, so please bear this in mind before you send your test back.

However, it is now easy to get tested and from the comfort of your own home if you do not feel like going to the GP or you would just like to get some peace of mind. Some web sites offer HIV testing by post. These are not currently recognised in the UK, and are not CE marked tests. We do not, as we do not want to offer a test that has not been accredited. We hope this will change soon, and there is an HIV test going through accreditation at the moment.
